108 Mala Bead

In Buddhism, the 108 is significant. Number one represents ultimate truth, number zero symbolizes emptiness or completeness, and eight serves as meaning of infinity or the eternal path. Practitioners hold the mala in their right hand and use their thumb to move one bead forward repeatedly of a mantra. such as "om mani padme hum" or "om namah shivaya" It helps anchor the mind with this practice and prevents distraction. It trains the mind to have a deeper state of concentration.
